Sherhonda Fevrier was influenced to pursue a career in medicine after watching her father endure medical complications. “I experienced firsthand how nurse practitioners were involved in patient care with assessing, diagnosing, and treating medical problems, and my lightbulb went off,” she explains. She loves educating patients and says her favorite part of being a nurse practitioner is seeing patients reach their goals. Sherhonda Fevrier strives to be personable and relatable. She treats patients like family and loves serving the senior population. “Seniors are fun to be around and have so many stories and life experiences to share,” she says. When not with patients, Sherhonda Fevrier enjoys spending quality time with her family.

Gladys de Leon

As a podiatrist, Dr. Gladys de Leon loves the opportunity to work closely with primary care physicians and other specialists. “Patients deserve our time and good communication as health care providers,” she says. Compassion and mutual respect are vital in her practice. “I am a firm believer in education, early intervention, and making sure each patient is well informed, taking accountability for their health,” she explains. She feels honored to serve as an advocate for her senior patients. In her free time, Dr. de Leon loves spending time with friends and family, especially her children. She also enjoys reading and staying active with daily exercise and Pilates. Dr. de Leon was born in the Philippines, but grew up on Long Island in New York.

He loves serving the senior population. “I am very comfortable managing chronic conditions,” he adds. To keep up with the ever-evolving world of medicine, he regularly reads. When not caring for patients, he can be found spending time with his family. He also enjoys listening to music, reading, and exercising in his free time.

Thanh Van

Dr. Thanh Van has wanted to help others for as long as he can remember. “I knew that by pursuing a career in podiatry, I could make a significant and lasting impact on my patients’ well-being, as well as fulfill my desire to help others,” he says. Seeing his patients successfully recover is his favorite part of his profession. He loves building long-term relationships with patients and believes in the “humanistic side of medicine.” He explains, “I always aim to be the physician who makes a living by having a positive impact on others through the values of integrity, respect, commitment, sympathy, and persistence.” In his free time, Dr. Van likes traveling, exercising, and enjoying the outdoors. He especially loves deep sea fishing.

Originally from Haiti, Dr. Vladimir Chery sought to realize his dream of working as a physician by attending medical school in the Dominican Republic. Since then, he has accomplished a diverse healthcare portfolio, working in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Spain, and the United States. Dr. Chery is “driven by a passion for improving healthcare delivery for seniors.” He adds, “My mission is to support seniors and their families, advocate for better healthcare outcomes, and make a meaningful difference in his patients’ lives.” When not caring for patients, Dr. Chery can be found enjoying quality time with his family. He also loves exploring new places, meeting new people, and learning about different cultures.

Joshua Silverstein

Inspired by several family members, Dr. Joshua Silverstein knew at a young age that he wanted to work in healthcare. “I most enjoy the feeling of having positively impacted a person’s life and how they feel after,” he says. He strives to be approachable and wants patients to feel comfortable coming to him with any issues. “When you can help understand their life circumstances and share a piece of yourself and your life, they tend to see you less as ‘the great doctor’ and more as the person to whom they can turn to,” he explains. In his free time, Dr. Silverstein enjoys going to the Disney parks, playing soccer, and listening to Broadway shows. He also likes tackling home improvement projects.
