Natacha Seidu is passionate about holistic care. “My care is not only geared towards treating the physical condition but also the emotional and mental factors that can negatively impact one’s health,” she says. She likes educating and empowering patients. “I enjoy interacting with my patients and I am appreciative of the fact that no two people are alike,” she says. She values transparency and honesty. “My love and appreciation for seniors stems from the close relationship I had with my grandmother,” she says. In her free time, Natacha Seidu enjoys watching movies with her family. She also regularly volunteers at Shepherd’s Hope Health Center. A self-proclaimed fitness enthusiast, she hopes to one day compete in a fitness competition.

As a podiatrist, Dr. Gladys de Leon loves the opportunity to work closely with primary care physicians and other specialists. “Patients deserve our time and good communication as health care providers,” she says. Compassion and mutual respect are vital in her practice. “I am a firm believer in education, early intervention, and making sure each patient is well informed, taking accountability for their health,” she explains. She feels honored to serve as an advocate for her senior patients. In her free time, Dr. de Leon loves spending time with friends and family, especially her children. She also enjoys reading and staying active with daily exercise and Pilates. Dr. de Leon was born in the Philippines, but grew up on Long Island in New York.

Dr. Andrew Santos says he has “always had a passion for science and caring for people in need.” He explains, “Every patient is unique and if you take the time to listen, you will find a human being and not a patient.” He is grateful to have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of his senior patients. “I love treating the elderly because each of them has a story or experience we can learn from,” he says. He often reads medical journals and participates in Continuing Medical Education opportunities to stay up to date with the latest medical advancements. When Dr. Santos is not caring for patients, he enjoys staying active by golfing, hiking, and playing soccer. He also likes listening to live music and traveling.

Dr. Maryam BayatMokhtari explains that her mother “painted our existence through the lens of nature’s wisdom,” which sparked her interest in medicine. “The teachings of our bodies, like sacred stories, began to captivate me from a young age. As I embarked on the journey of scientific education, this connection deepen and continues to thrive within me to this day,” she explains. She is dedicated to helping patients “lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.” She adds, “My goal is to create accessible, comprehensive, and practical healthcare plans that cater to their well-being.” Dr. BayatMokhtari is family-oriented and values quality time with family. She also loves trying to recipes to share with loved ones.

Dr. Michael Kaplan, who was raised in a family of doctors, says his passion for the health sciences and his love for helping others led him to pursue a career as a physician. “There is no better feeling than being there for a patient during their times of greatest need or celebrating their healthcare victories,” he says. He believes healthcare should be patient-centered and views his relationships with patients as partnerships. “I show how and why I give recommendations and empower my patients to make the best healthcare decisions together,” he explains. Dr. Kaplan is a new father, and when he is not with patients, he loves spending time with his family. He enjoys swimming, playing tennis, and loves eating very spicy foods.

Dr. Sophia “Sophi” Pothen chose to pursue a career in healthcare “to help people achieve a state of health, wellness, and well-being.” Education, empowerment, and teammwork are key in her practice. She loves getting to know patients through honest conversations and always celebrates their successes. She strives to assist patients in “setting realistic goals” and “keeping them accountable and moving the needle” on those goals. She explains that she utilizes “lifestyle medicine and osteopathic medicine principles to help patients attain healing.” She adds, “Holistic health means treating body, mind, and spirit.” In her free time, Sophi can be found gardening, enjoying nature, trying new recipes, or spending time with her family.

Dr. Juan Sosa’s desire to “help people live healthier lives” led him to the medical field. “I chose to work with seniors because I value their resilience and enjoy providing preventative care for a better quality of life,” he adds. He always takes the time to listen to his patients and understand their goals, so he can provide personalized care. Open communication and preventation are a key in his practice. He explains that he likes involving patients in the decisions surrounding their care. He strives to provide care that is “both effective and compassionate” to help patients “feel supported and empowered.” Outside of work, Dr. Sosa loves spending time with his family and enjoying the outdoors. He also enjoys traveling.
